What I have been hearing from Father lately is that these are trying times, times that cause people to make a choice. It is no longer possible to look the other way. We are all affected by the events going on in our world today.
You may be afraid to speak what you are thinking, but then why is that so? If you see an elderly person, or a woman attacked, you have a choice to make. The choice has consequences. To do nothing has consequences. To stand up for what is right may cost you everything …in this life.
You may only have seconds to make your decision. The circumstances can vary greatly, but they all boil down to the trying of what “stuff” are you made of. Do you love righteousness? Do you find you are happy when you see someone do the right thing? Or do you prefer to keep the things you think about in the dark and have no concern for the suffering of others?
Since we never know when we will meet a crisis, it is best to be prepared. Plan ahead. The only way to make the right decision is to give your heart to the One who never made a wrong decision. He is the One who died in our place, took our punishment for our sins. He was so right that death had no ability to hold Him in the grave. On the third day He walked out and paved the way for us to do the same thing. All we have to do is confess we are sinners and sorry for being so, and ask Him to come into our hearts. He is happy to do so.
The result is joy now, courage to face the situations we will face, and eternal life with all those who have received Jesus as their Savior. These are the things I have been hearing from heavenly Father. I hope they encourage you, too. These are the days when people will have to decide which side they are on. It is a choice with eternal consequences.
