Father God wants us to remember our First Love.  In a world so full of cares, with so many distractions, it is easy to feel oppressed or even down hearted.  We have been isolated and separated.  Our culture has changed being forced to wear masks, not allowed to shake hands, see family, be with loved ones in the hospital or doctors office, or even attend funerals.  Even the right to assemble in church services has been affected.  It is enough to make your heart grieve.

Psalm 73 paints a clear picture of one looking at injustice in the world in their time, and it also tells what happens when that one enters into the presence of the Lord.  The same is true today.  Psalm 73:12,16-17,18, says, “Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches.  When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me; until I went into the sanctuary of God then understood I their end.  Surely thou didst set them in slippery places; thou cast them down into destruction.”  Verse 25 says, “Whom have I in heaven but thee? And there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.”

When we come into the presence of the Lord,  everything is different.  He opens our understanding.  He reveals His heart to us.  There is nothing like the presence of Jesus. He wants to pour His Holy Spirit  into us that the world may see Him through us and believe.  These are the days when the church should be doing  “Greater works than these shall ye do because I go unto my Father.” The church will do those works before the Lord returns.  The Lord’s Word never fails.

Ours is not a powerless gospel.  We have the power of Almighty God within us. Now is the time  to drink deeply from the well of living water He has placed within us, spend time in His Word falling in love with Jesus and allowing Him to rule and reign in our hearts.  Then we will be like Moses coming down from the mountain.  Our faces will so shine with His presence that we will be irresistible, and the power of the Holy Spirit will be with us to heal the sick and do the greater works Jesus spoke of.  It will happen.  The question is will we be the ones to cooperate with Him and see it, or will it be the next generation.  I pray Lord “Set our hearts on fire!  Let it be us!  In Jesus’ precious Name I pray, Amen.”
