There is something awesome that happens when you go to the Father in the name of Jesus and begin to praise Him for all He has done. There is no one like our Father God. He created the heavens and the earth. He formed man of the dust of the ground. He breathed into us the breath of life. He holds everything together, without Him it would all just fall apart.

When we go to Him and offer the praise He is due, we can also ask for His kingdom to come on earth as it is in heaven. That is the Lord’s prayer, and it is the Father’s desire. So much is wrong on earth today. So many have turned away from God and sought after money or fleshly pleasures. Many are hungry for power and long to control others. There are many types of sin, but it all leads to an end that is not pleasing to God or to the people who chose to live under sin’s power.

We do, however, have a powerful weapon against sin. When we come to the Father with praise and thanksgiving, we also can pray for those who are in authority over us. Pray that they will rule justly, with wisdom, and be protected in doing so. Pray for their families. Pray for all those who join in the effort to righteously rule over us no matter what their capacity. Pray for the eyes of the people to be opened and their understanding as well, that they will know the truth and be set free from deception.

God hears these prayers that are prayed in the name of Jesus, for the fulfillment of God’s will on the earth. We can even ask for Him to send angelic intervention to keep everyone safe and our elections fair and honest. These are the type of prayers that move God’s heart, because He desires His kingdom on the earth as much as we do.

We may feel like we are small and that there is not much we can do, but the truth is that prayer is powerful, and the more of us that pray, the more powerful the prayers will be.

It may not be until we are in heaven, but I believe the day will come when we will find out just how much our prayers affected life in the here and now. It will be interesting to see. The Bible says God has our tears in His bottles, and our prayers rise like incense. Someday we will find out the results! Till then we will continue to praise Him, and pray for His kingdom to come, for the eyes of the people to be opened so they understand, and for righteous government until He returns to reign as our Righteous King!
