Many years ago, as a very young Christian, I read a story about an atheist who was brought to Christ simply by having an honest heart.  It has been so long ago that I do not remember who wrote it, but I will never forget the impact it had on my life.

It made me realize that there was nothing I could not take to God with an honest heart, and that He values an honest heart very highly.  You might  say an honest heart leads you straight to His heart.  I know I have found it to be so.

No matter how down your are, or how far away you think you have fallen, if you turn your heart toward Him and are honest, He will listen every time.  He is more than willing to forgive if we ask Him to.  He will even help us walk out of tough situations if we are willing to take the first step with Him and look to Him for help with each following step.  I’ve been there… I have the tee shirt.

You know the Bible says that those who are forgiven much love much.  That is what Jesus said about the woman who washed His feet with her tears and dried them with her hair. (Luke 7:47)  I believe that is true.  When you realize how much you have been forgiven, you cannot help but love the One who forgave.

No matter where you are today or what your situation, remember to always run to the arms of our loving Savior.  There is nothing you can tell Him that He does not already know.  Nothing will surprise Him.  He is always ready and willing to forgive those who come to Him with an honest heart.

Jesus had this to say of the seeds that fell on good ground: Luke 8:15,” But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.”
