“Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did believed on Him. But some of them went their ways to the Pharisees and told them the things that Jesus had done,” John 11:45-46.
It is amazing you know, how two different groups of people can see the same man and his actions so differently. Some saw Him as the Son of God who had just raised a dead man. Others saw Him as a threat to their way of life and their plans.
Here was a man who never sinned, the very Son of God, yet people found fault with Him. Others saw Him as their hope for life. They believed He was the Son of God. Two groups of people, as different as night and day, living at the same time, in the same culture, in the same city, yet so far apart in their perception of Jesus. What makes people so different in this most important matter? It is worth considering.
“This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the Light , and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God,” John 3:19-21.
So who is this Jesus to you? Is He just a historical figure, who somehow has changed all of history, but surely must be in the grave now, or is He the resurrected Christ, the Savior of the world? What you decide has eternal consequences.
