Recently when reading Acts 26, my heart was moved over King Agrippa’s words “Paul almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.” I have to wonder what happened to King Agrippa. Did he ever become fully persuaded? I hope so, because almost, is not close enough.
We’ve been given one life, one span of time whether short or long, to find the truth. He is always right beside us willing to make Himself known. All we have to do is search for the truth. It’s not the kind of thing you can put off till tomorrow, for you never know how long your own life will be. Hebrews 9:27 says, “And it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”
One life, that is what we have been given, by a heavenly Father who loves us so much that He himself came as a man to die for us. No one else could have done that. No one else was qualified. Once man became sinful, after the fall, there has never been a man born who was free from sin. Only a sinless man could pay the price for us.
That God would leave his throne of glory, and put on the flesh to become a man is beyond our comprehension. He became a helpless baby, subjecting himself to the care of his creation. He was rejected as a man, and abused, spat upon, and crucified; a most horrible form of death. He did this all for us, to save us. His suffering was real. The creator of heaven and earth allowed himself to be mocked and spat upon by his creation, all while He forgave them. He did this for us, to pay the price for our sin, that we could be restored to a right relationship with the Father. God is Holy. It was not possible for God to just overlook sin. Sin requires judgement. He took that judgement upon Himself, for us.
What an amazing love the Father has for us. I pray that if you are not yet fully persuaded, you will consider these things. No matter where you look, you will find no greater love story. You will find no other Truth.
If you are persuaded, pray this prayer out loud from your heart:
Father, I am coming to you today, because I am persuaded that
You gave your life for me that I could be forgiven. I need forgiveness.
I confess that I am a sinner. Please forgive me. I accept the sacrifice
Jesus Christ made for me on the cross. I surrender my heart to You
Please come into my heart and my life and make me fully yours.
In Jesus name I pray.
If you have prayed this prayer from your heart, welcome to the family! You have been born again of God’s spirit. No longer will you need to search for the Truth. He is living right inside of you! Now declare your faith to friends and family. Get a Bible and read it. Ask someone to baptize you. You are a new person in Christ!
